Associate Attorney – Insurance Defense (3–5 Years Experience)
Johanson, Fairless & Taylor, LLP is a respected civil litigation firm specializing primarily in first- and third-party insurance defense. Our practice includes a wide variety of personal injury, property damage, and breach of contract claims. We are seeking an experienced Associate Attorney to join our team in our Sugar Land, Texas office.

This position offers meaningful hands-on experience, direct client interaction, and long-term opportunities for advancement based on performance and workflow.
Qualified candidates should submit a current resume and a recent legal writing sample.
Responsibilities
- Manage an active litigation caseload from inception through resolution.
- Conduct legal research and analyze complex legal issues.
- Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, and other litigation-related documents.
- Draft and respond to written discovery and develop strategic discovery plans.
- Prepare for and participate in depositions, mediations, hearings, and trials.
- Develop and execute litigation strategies in collaboration with partners.
- Communicate effectively with clients and provide timely case status reports.
- Maintain accurate billing entries and comply with case management requirements.
- Work both independently and collaboratively to meet deadlines and achieve successful outcomes.

Requirements
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
- Active license and eligibility to practice law in Texas.
- 3–5 years of civil litigation experience, preferably in insurance defense.
- Excellent legal research, writing, and analytical skills.
- Strong organizational, time management, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities while meeting deadlines.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Demonstrated professionalism, integrity, and commitment to providing exceptional client service.
