About Greenville Health System
Greenville Health System (GHS) is committed to medical excellence through patient care, research and education. GHS offers patients a comprehensive network of expertise and technologies through its six medical campuses, tertiary medical center, research and education facilities, community hospitals, physician practices and numerous specialty services throughout upstate South Carolina. It also is home to one of the nation’s newest medical schools – University of South Carolina School of Medicine Greenville.
Among the largest healthcare networks in the Southeast, this not-for-profit system contains 6 hospital campuses 1,358 beds, 14 medical residency and fellowship programs, and the state’s largest number of active clinical trials. Recent honors include being named one of the Top 100 Integrated Healthcare Networks, Top 50 Teaching Hospitals and 10 Best-led Hospitals.
Greenville Memorial Medical Campus/Main Campus
The Main Campus is a 138-acre site in the City of Greenville on which are located the newest branch of the University of SC Medical School, Greenville Memorial Hospital, Roger C Peace Rehabilitation Hospital, Marshall I Pickens Behavioral Health Hospital, Cross Creek Outpatient Surgery Center, the LifeCenter for wellness and cardiac rehab, a day care center for children of staff, out-patient medical clinics and physician offices. Most of the centralized support service functions of the System are also housed on the Main Campus. Greenville Shriners’ Hospital is also located on the Main Campus pursuant to long-term lease arrangements.
Greenville Memorial Hospital is a 736-bed acute care major tertiary provider for key clinical services that serve both Greenville County and northwestern South Carolina. Among the specialized services provided are a 24-hour Level I Emergency Trauma Center; Children’s Emergency Center; a multi-specialty Children’s Hospital, including a Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit; the Heart Institute, a regional cardiovascular center offering a comprehensive continuum of heart-related preventive, diagnostic, treatment and surgical services; Oncology Research Institute.

Company History
Greenville Health System started as Greenville City Hospital over 100 years ago and has grown to the largest not for profit health system in the region, with six hospital campuses in a three county area, with services for the upstate as the regional referral center.
