Description
A hedge fund is currently hiring a Senior Risk Manager to join the Global Macro Business in the NYC area. This hire will join a lean team with PM-facing responsibility, serving as a risk management leader in the front office. The Senior Risk Manager has a granular focus - you will be directly monitoring positions across Rates/FX derivatives and providing pre- and post-trade analysis and advice on how PMs can position themselves to maximize returns. Front office mentality is essential, as this individual will be expected to manage downside protection while still optimizing upside opportunities and adding value to the business.
To be considered a good fit, candidates must be experts in risk managing Rates Derivatives and Fixed Income Relative Value trading strategies. Additional exposure to Macro Credit/Equity trading strategies would be beneficial to capture maximum value when those opportunities arise.
Realistically a Risk Strategist, Risk Manager, or Trader/QR could bring the required skillset to succeed in this position. There is a hands on quantitative component, so coding/programming proficiency in Python or a similar language is strongly preferred.
Requirements:
- 10+ years in a front office-facing role (risk manager, risk strategist, quant researcher, trader/PM, etc.)
- Expertise in G10 Rates + FX markets; experience covering linear and non-linear derivatives trading
- Experience covering Fixed Income Relative Value or Basis strategies (Treasury, Cash-Futures, XCCY, etc.)
- Proficiency in Python and SQL, or similar coding languages
- Ability to work in a fast paced environment and provide fast and effective advice to Portfolio Managers
