Our client, a well- established global commodities trading firm is looking to expand their business within the Asia Pacific region. The company is looking for a Senior Risk Controller to join them and this role sits within the trading business with direct exposure to senior stakeholders within the company.

Job Responsibilities:

1. Prepare and review daily position reports, including reconciliation and analysis from the risk system
2. Produce and report weekly MTM and fair value valuations across all positions. You will be responsible for position monitoring, risk valuation and control
3. Engage closely with the Business CFO and Corporate Risk Office, addressing queries and providing timely, accurate data
4. Ensure all trades are captured accurately and within cut-off timelines, in coordination with the central deal ticket team
5. Take ownership of risk management processes across the business
6. Assess counterparty risk, including sanction checks, and support submissions for credit limit approvals
7. Support ongoing system enhancements and implementation of risk controls
8. Establish and maintain risk policies and procedures
9. Ensure adherence to financial regulations and stay updated on accounting, regulatory, and system developments

Skills/Requirements:

1. Minimum 7 years of experience in Risk Control or Risk Reporting within a commodity trading environment
2. Chartered Accountant or MBA (Finance) with a strong accounting or risk background
3. Solid understanding of accounting and finance principles
4. Strong familiarity with SAP and risk/reporting systems
5. Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office
6. Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities
7. Effective communication skills with the ability to engage senior stakeholders
