- Safety and Loss Control Assistant

The Safety and Loss Control Assistant is responsible for all aspects of a smoothly run Safety Team in terms of compliance, housekeeping, recordkeeping, etc. This person also monitors and updates corporate and branch safety programs.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Assist in completing Monthly, Quarterly, and Annual inspections as required including reminders and filing completions
- Assist with the Safety Committee Team meetings and follow-ups including monthly safety trainings for various workgroups throughout Riggs
- Research and assist in development of training materials
- Assist in all OSHA, MSHA, ADEQ, ADOLL, etc. documentation and recordkeeping
- Assist Safety Team with coordinating and conducting any needed training (CPR, MSHA, OSHA, Genie, Forklift, etc.)
- Assist with reporting and investigate (if needed) Near Misses at the branch level
- Assist with Store Audits and follow-up with management team
- Administer all 3rd Party Vendor responsibilities for various customer requirements to keep Riggs employees in compliance with mandatory requirements for working on certain jobsites
- Prepare, order, and organize any materials needed for Safety Compliance and Training
WHAT YOU'LL NEED
- High school diploma or GED. 1 year administrative or clerical experience preferred. Experience working in Safety Compliance is a plus!
- Individual must be detail oriented, accurate, well organized and able to work effectively under tight deadlines.
- This position requires a pro-active, problem-solving individual who is able to manage a varied workload with constantly changing priorities.
- Must have excellent listening, verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
- Knowledge of MS Office and operate a Windows based computer.
- Must be able to meet expectations of the position with minimal guidance or supervision.
- Thorough knowledge of MS Excel, Word and PowerPoint and report writing applications

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand and walk. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and distance vision.
