Description
This position is eligible for hybrid-remote work following an initial training/onboarding period that will require an onsite presence. The duties of this position are primarily performed at the Salem HQ office located at 4034 Fairview Industrial Drive SE., Salem, OR. Candidates that successfully complete the introductory period are extended the option to work remotely 2-3 days per week.

As a Revenue Accountant (Accountant 1) in Salem, Oregon, you will use standard accounting knowledge and skills and reviews, reconciles and assures compliance in reporting and remittance of wholesale fish dealers fees in poundage of fish landed and the sale of recreational licenses and tags sold by retail license agents located throughout the state. Duties include:
Apply standard accounting knowledge and skills to review, verify, and reconcile collection of monthly commercial fish dealer landing fees and daily sales of recreational hunter/angler licenses
Reconcile Electronic Licensing System (ELS), system reports for the sale of recreational hunting and angling licenses. Reconciliations performed include ACH (Automated Clearing House), cancels, Licensing cash registers, credit cards, and online sales
Reconcile, initiate corrections and makes adjusting entries to the State Financial Management Application (SFMA)
Work with Information Services and Licensing to create, modify, and enhance ELS financial reporting capabilities to meet general accepted accounting principles and Oregon Accounting manual standards
Participates in licensure of Wholesale Fish Dealers and Limited Fish Sellers.
Help process refunds
Prepare, review and reconcile electronic fund transfers (EFT)

The salary listed is the non-PERS qualifying salary range. If the successful candidate is PERS qualifying, the salary range will reflect an additional 6.95%

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
Minimum Qualifications
Option 1: Possession of a Certified Public Accountant or Certified Government Financial Manager certificate
-OR-
Option 2: A bachelor’s degree in accounting
-OR-
Option 3: Successful completion of the State of Oregon Accounting Career Mobility Program or equivalent accounting certificate program from an accredited college or university
-OR-
Option 4: 32 quarter (21 semester) credit hours in Accounting from an accredited institution AND two years of technical, para- professional accounting experience to include:
classifying, analyzing, and reconciling financial data and records;
designing, recommending, and installing modifications of accounting methods, procedures, forms, and records;
preparing financial statements and reports;
analyzing and interpreting laws, regulations, codes, and ordinances to ensure the legality of financial transactions; and
analyzing, interpreting, and making recommendations related to accounting transactions, accounts and account relationships resulting in accounting entries.
Desired Attributes
Experience using and applying Generally Accepted Accounting Principles
Experience using Excel, OBIEE, and PowerBI
Experience with complex accounting systems like SFMA/R*Stars
