Part-Time Bookkeeper (Remote)
Australian Hand Therapy Association (AHTA)
The Australian Hand Therapy Association (AHTA) is the national peak body representing hand therapists across Australia. We support excellence in hand therapy practice through education, advocacy, and professional standards.
We are seeking an experienced Bookkeeper to join our small, collaborative team in a part-time, remote role (2.5 days per week).
About the role
Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, the Bookkeeper is responsible for the accurate and compliant management of AHTA’s day-to-day financial operations. This role plays a key part in supporting strong financial governance, providing timely financial reporting, and ensuring compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements.
Key responsibilities
Accurate data entry of all financial transactions
Accounts payable and receivable, invoicing, and follow-up
Bank, credit card, and account reconciliations
Monthly and quarterly financial reporting, including P&L, balance sheet, and cash flow reports
Budget monitoring and variance reporting
Payroll processing, including Single Touch Payroll, superannuation, PAYG, and Workers’ Compensation
ASIC reporting and financial compliance obligations
Preparation of financial information for the annual audit and tax purposes
Financial support for the AGM and contribution to the Annual Report
Liaison with the CEO, external accountant, auditor, suppliers, and stakeholders
About you
You will be an experienced and highly organised bookkeeper who has attention to detail, has a high level of accuracy, has the ability to manage deadlines and priorities autonomously and has excellent communication skills and a professional, confidential approach.
Key selection criteria:
Minimum Certificate IV in Bookkeeping and Accounting
Demonstrated experience in a bookkeeping or finance administration role
Strong knowledge of Australian payroll and financial compliance requirements
Intermediate to advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and Outlook
Experience using XERO accounting and payroll software
Desirable:
Experience in a not-for-profit or membership-based organisation
Experience supporting audits and AGM processes
Familiarity with professional associations or health-related organisations
