Operational Risk ManagerInternational Bank based in London
Permanent position, hybrid working on offer
Salary £80k plus benefits
Operational Risk Events
- Co-ordinating with and challenging the 1st line to ensure the timely completion of good quality Risk Event Reports within policy timeframes.
- Maintaining complete, accurate and up to date Risk Event records on the OpenPages system.
- Managing the quarterly Risk Event attestation process from the 1st line.
- Production of the London Branch 6 monthly Risk Event attestation to Group Operational Risk.
New Product and Process Approval (NPPA)
- Liaise with and challenge 1st line in the raising/initiation of NPPAs.
- Liaise with and challenge the 1st line on completion of the documentation stage including documentation of the risks & controls.
- Produce the fortnightly MI pack for the Change Risk Management Committee (CRMC).
- Manage the communications for the CRMC
- Capture, document and track CRMC actions and decisions for the CRMC.
Risk & Control Management Information and Reporting
- Support the Senior Lead - Operational Risk, UK in the evolution of the Branch's Risk & Control management information (MI) and reporting.
- Produce regular and ad hoc Risk and Control MI and reporting, including but not limited to: Fortnightly CRMC packs, monthly Branch Risk Committee packs (BRC), monthly business unit level MI packs
Risk & Control Self-Assessment (RCSA)
- Work with the Senior Lead - Operational Risk, UK to define the Branch's approach to RCSA.
- Co-ordinate and oversee the RCSA process, providing support and challenge to the 1st line business units.
- Oversee and challenge the Risk & Control data captured on OpenPages.
To be considered for this position, ideal candidates must have the following experience and skills;
- University Degree
- At least 5 -7 years' experience within the Risk area.
- At least 5 years' experience within financial services.
- Risk management (Operational Risk, Enterprise Risk, Governance, etc) experience essential.
- Strong MI and reporting skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work on own initiative and ability to prioritise work.
- Exceptional time management skills with the ability to thrive whilst working under pressure.
- Accurate organized individual, flexible and happy to work as part of a team.
- Excellent knowledge of MS Office skills in Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Strong Excel skills particularly desirable.
