On behalf of our client, Royal London. We are looking for a Financial Reporting Accountant for a 7-month contract based in Alderley Park, hybrid working.
Purpose of the Role
Lead the delivery of accurate, timely, and insightful financial reporting across the Group. This includes preparing reports for the Board, Committees, and external stakeholders such as press releases and the Annual Report and Accounts (ARA). The role supports the monthly UK GAAP consolidation process, ensuring compliance with external standards through collaboration with Finance teams. A key objective is to interpret, and challenge reported results to craft a clear, consistent narrative that informs strategic decision-making and strengthens external messaging.
As the Financial Reporting Accountant, you will be responsible for
- Preparing committee reports to Audit Committee and Board of an appropriate standard and take responsibility for the production and review process of the reports through to submission to Company Secretarial.
- Preparing the subsidiary statutory accounts working closely with teams across finance and the wider business to deliver timely and accurate financial statements.
- Supporting the Head of Financial & Regulatory Reporting in improving the control environment surrounding the UK GAAP consolidation process and preparation of subsidiary and Group statutory accounts, improving the quality of the reporting process and in embedding the Financial Reporting Data and Controls Framework.
- Provision of ad hoc support and input into projects.
- Preparing reports and presentations analysing financial results and financial reporting matters (including the interaction of accounting and actuarial data).
- Supporting the production of monthly financial reporting, half yearly results announcements and Group annual report and accounts. This includes preparation of Group Finance deliverables, drafting wording to be included in the reports (including the CFO report of the Annual Report & Accounts), calculation and validation of data and liaising with External Communications team.
- Preparing the subsidiary statutory accounts working closely with teams across finance and the wider business to deliver timely and accurate financial statements.
What we require from the candidate
- Fully qualified accountant.
- Experience within statutory reporting, legal entity reporting.
- Experience dealing with internal and external auditors.
- Microsoft Word and Excel experience.
- Financial Services experience.
Our Alderley Park office is situated in 400 acres of natural parkland, based 2.2 miles south of Alderley Edge and 6.5 miles from Macclesfield in our newly refurbished site. We offer a free shuttle service to and from the office from Wilmslow train station and offer free on-site parking with free electric car charging points.
