Skills and Competencies
We are seeking a highly motivated and results-driven Manager to lead the development and management of advanced analytics solutions for the Operational Risk function. This role will focus on designing, creating, and maintaining Power BI dashboards and driving strategic data analytics initiatives to enhance risk management capabilities across the organization. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong technical expertise, leadership abilities, and an aptitude for collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver actionable insights.
- Advanced-level data analytics functions within Excel or equivalent applications (e.g., Access, Tableau, ACL, Power BI), and the ability to leverage, contribute to, and improve the data analytics library.
- Technical proficiency in Power BI and related analytics tools.
- Proficiency in envisioning information and using analytics tools to tell a story to target audiences.
- Ability to balance technical responsibilities with strategic leadership and stakeholder management.
- Adaptability to a fast-paced, dynamic environment with competing priorities.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Data Analytics, Business Intelligence, Risk Management, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Proven experience (5+ years) in Power BI dashboard development and data analytics, preferably within a risk or financial domain.
- Strong knowledge of data visualization principles, ETL (Extract, Transform, and Load) processes, and SQL programming.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, with the ability to present complex data insights to non-technical audiences.
- Familiarity with risk management frameworks, metrics, and regulatory requirements is a plus.
- Clear and professional communication with stakeholders, both independently and in a team environment.
Power BI Dashboard Development and Management:
- Lead the design, creation, and maintenance of interactive Power BI dashboards to visualize key risk metrics and trends.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to understand reporting requirements and ensure dashboards meet business needs.
- Optimize the performance and usability of dashboards, ensuring seamless integration with existing data sources.
- Conduct advanced data analysis to identify risk patterns, trends, and anomalies, providing actionable insights to enhance decision-making.
- Partner with risk teams to develop predictive and prescriptive analytics models for proactive risk mitigation.
- Monitor and evaluate key performance indicators (KPIs) and risk metrics to support strategic planning.
- Build strong relationships with cross-functional teams, including risk management, IT, and data governance, to align analytics efforts with organizational goals.
- Ensure adherence to data privacy and compliance standards in all analytics initiatives.
- Identify opportunities to streamline reporting processes and improve efficiency through automation and best practices.
- Stay updated on emerging tools and technologies in data analytics and visualization to enhance capabilities.
- Develop and implement a strategic roadmap for analytics within the risk function, aligning with business objectives.
Moody's Operational Risk team is part of the Corporate Risk & Resilience (CRR) team within Moody's Shared Services (MSS) dedicated to establishing and maintaining a firm-wide risk management culture and framework embedded within the business for the timely identification, management and reporting of key financial, operational, reputational, and strategic risks. CRR is designed to establish a common, organization-wide understanding of risk management through a consistent framework that seeks to identify and assess risks and report them to senior management to ensure appropriate prioritization and management and to incorporate risk understanding into decision making.
