What We Are Seeking
We are seeking a Consulting Actuary specializing in Property & Casualty rate filings to join our growing team. This role is critical in delivering actuarial expertise and strategic support across various lines of business, i.e. Commercial Auto, Personal Auto, Inland Marine, Property, Crime, General Liability, Package, and Workers Compensation. The ideal candidate will bring deep technical knowledge, regulatory familiarity and practical experience working with insurance carriers and related stakeholders. You will collaborate with Practice Leaders and clients to deliver data-driven insights, provide rate support, develop actuarial models and support regulatory and business strategy initiatives.
Job Responsibilities
- Conduct P&C pricing studies and recommendations on rate filings. Apply actuarial methods to support rate development, trend analysis, Loss Cost evaluations and portfolio profitability.
- Support the development and submission of rate, rule and form filings in coordination with internal regulatory teams. Assist with addressing state DOI rate related interrogatories.
- Translate complex actuarial findings into strategic insights and clear, actionable recommendations. Prepare client-ready reports, presentations and documentation to support decision-making.
- Serve as a trusted advisor to clients, participating in meetings, presenting findings, and supporting ongoing actuarial and consulting needs. Build long-term relationships.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams, including analysts, project managers, and regulatory consultants. Provide guidance and mentorship to junior team members as needed.
- Maintain current knowledge of rate filing trends, legislative changes, and actuarial best practices. Contribute to internal knowledge sharing and process improvement initiatives.
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree
- Minimum of 5 years of Actuarial experience in Commercial Lines with a Property & Casualty insurance carrier or Third-Party Administrator (TPA) – specifically pricing & filing experience
Preferred Skills
- Certifications: ACAS or FCAS
- Management System: ISO Rating, Guidewire, Insurity
- Computer Skills: MS Outlook, MS Teams, MS Excel, MS Word, SQL, MS Sharepoint
