Description
Risk Assessment and Management
- Identifies, analyzes, and assesses operational business risk issues and the impacts on the Clinic
- Develops strategies to manage and mitigate these risks
Compliance and Regulatory Oversight
- Develops, plans, organizes, and administers programs to comply with applicable federal and state statutes and regulations
- Develops and reviews policies and procedures for the general operation of the Clinic to prevent improper and/or illegal conduct.
- Develops and maintains a Corporate Compliance Plan and a Code of Conduct
Risk Communication and Education
- Communicates risks to relevant stakeholders of the Clinic, including the Board of Directors, executive management team, providers, and staff
- Works with the Human Resources Department and other appropriate areas to develop effective risk and compliance training
- Investigates reported violations of policies or procedures
Crisis Management and Disaster Preparedness
- Develops and maintains comprehensive crisis management and disaster preparedness plans
- Coordinates responses during emergencies
- Ensures the organization continues to deliver essential services while managing risks
Patient Safety Initiatives
- Collaborates with the Medical Director and Chief Operating Officer to promote and oversee patient safety initiatives within the Clinic’s facilities
- Works to minimize adverse events and medical errors
- Implement systems and protocols to enhance patient safety
- Implements quality improvement initiatives and fosters a culture of safety throughout the organization
Insurance and Claims Management
- Handles the Clinic’s insurance policies, including liability coverage and malpractice insurance.
- Manages the Clinic’s risk financing efforts, including the captive insurance subsidiary
- Oversees claims management processes, working closes with legal teams and insurance companies to handle any potential claims or litigation

Experience
Required
A minimum of 7-10 years of experience in risk management or a related field, including several years in a senior leadership role, is required.Knowledge of applicable healthcare statutes and regulations, including HIPAA, anti-kickback statute (AKS), physician self-referral (STARK), civil monetary penalties law (CMP), etc.Licenses & Certifications
