Description
As part of Risk and Compliance, you are at the center of keeping JPMorgan Chase strong and resilient. You help the firm grow its business in a responsible way by anticipating new and emerging risks and using your expert judgement to solve real-world challenges that impact our company, customers and communities. Our culture in Risk and Compliance is all about thinking outside the box, challenging the status quo and striving to be best-in-class.As a Chief Risk Officer (CRO) at JPMorgan Securities Far East Seoul Branch, you are responsible for the end-to-end risk governance and oversight framework across the Firm's business activities within a legal entity. The role requires working closely with various Risk functions but not limited to Market, Credit and Liquidity Risk as well as Compliance, Business, Control and other functional teams to proactively engage on business strategy and to define, measure and control the range of applicable risks related the Firm's businesses, products, services and activities in the entity. You will report into the APAC Legal Entity Risk team lead, based in Singapore, and to the branch manager locally.
Job Responsibilities
- Provide independent risk management oversight and leadership for CIB Risk Management functions for JPMorgan Securities Far East Seoul branch, serving as a key contact for senior management, boards, and regulators.
- Chair and participate in local and regional risk governance committees, establishing robust governance structures and alignment with the Firmwide Three Lines of Defense and local regulatory requirements.
- Identify, evaluate, and monitor material aggregate risks for the branch, review risk mitigations, and escalate significant issues.
- Establish, maintain, review and approve local risk policies, limits, and regulatory deliverables as appropriate; manage regulatory, audit, and compliance engagements impacting risk functions.
- Prepare and present regular and ad-hoc risk reports, sector reviews, and portfolio analyses to local management, risk committees, and forums
- Work with other LE Risk team members to support CROs/Legal Entity Risk Managers (LERMs) in the APAC region.
- Partner with regional and global risk teams, as required, which includes leading or participating in projects / initiatives impacting Risk Management.
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Minimum 10 years of financial banking services experience, in risk management, compliance, finance or control management in corporate and commercial banking.
- Strong knowledge of capital markets products, including structured derivatives.
- Deep understanding of various risk types and risk management strategies.
- Proficient in policies and procedures, with the ability to implement change seamlessly.
- Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to work under pressure and manage time and priorities effectively with minimal supervision.
- Highly effective written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate clearly and concisely to audiences at all levels of seniority.
- Strong analytical, interpersonal, and leadership skills; organized, motivated, and proactive, with a willingness to take initiative.
Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Regulatory experience or relevant experience in a similar role at another institution is desirable.
