The Clinical Risk Management Consultant is responsible for directly providing healthcare safety consultation services to clients or overseeing the services being provided to the client by insurance carriers' Loss Control staff.
JOB FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Works with clients to identify actual and potential exposures in the organization whether quality performance, safety, or risk.
Consults with client on quality, safety, and compliance exposure within their scope of practice. Leverages expertise within Graham's Safety Team if outside of scope.
Uses independent discretion and judgement to assist the client with the development, implementation, and monitoring of systems and processes to prevent or mitigate losses.
Uses independent discretion and judgement during the review of existing client quality, risk, and safety programs.
Works with the client to development new safety and quality policies/programs.
Assist clients with supervisory and employee safety training.
Coordinate/direct Loss Control Services being provided to clients through the Insurance Carrier.
Monitor the services being provided to assure they are geared towards clients' exposures and needs.
When requested, coordinates services provided by an outside vendor pursuant to an overall risk services plan.
Keep abreast of changing laws, which impact our clients, and communicate these changes to clients and fellow Graham Company employees.
Pursue a program for personal and professional development. Continually work to establish and strengthen existing relationships with insurance carriers, underwriters, loss control, etc. This includes activities such as attending meetings with insurance company representatives, both in and out of office, entertaining insurance company representatives (lunch, sporting, event, etc.).
Attend meetings relating to your position.
Coordinate with marketing firm or department to publish articles, white papers and blogs together with HHS Team Members for education-based marketing.
Research and develop risk management programs that include resources and education for client service as well as for presentation to provider groups for education-based marketing.
Perform other duties and projects assigned by The Graham Company managerial personnel.
JOB SPECIFICATIONS:
Undergraduate degree in nursing.
At least five years' operations experience in healthcare leadership.
Maintain valid Driver's License and must be willing to travel. This is a fully remote position rooted in the Southeastern or Central Pennsylvania, New Jersey, or Delaware region, with 30% local (day) travel and 20% of travel that requires air travel and overnight stays.
Ability to exercise independent discretion and judgement.
Above average knowledge of regulatory compliance, quality performance, risk, and safety regulations affecting health and human services organizations.
Willingness to learn Property and Casualty Insurance Coverage.
Ability to communicate with clients on their current losses and potential exposures, produce resources with the best practices to address those exposures, consult on the implementation of those best practices, and partner with client to deliver the improvements. The ability to handle multiple tasks at a time.
High level of organization ability
High degree of self-discipline and motivation
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Professional demeanor.
Proficient in Graham standard computer applications.
Regular and predictable attendance in accordance with the limitations and reporting procedures established by The Graham Company from time to time.
Employees are required to be fit-for-duty which includes not being under the influence of drugs and/or alcohol. This includes any drugs that might impact an employee's ability to safely perform their job.
The applicable base salary range for this role is $109,400 to $160,000.
The base pay offered will be determined on factors such as experience, skills, training, location, certifications, and education. Decisions will be determined on a case-by-case basis. In addition to the base salary, this position may be eligible for performance-based incentives.
