Job Title: Risk Management Business Analyst

Position Location: Raleigh, NC - this role is hybrid

Your impact:

As a Risk Management Business Analyst, you will have the opportunity to use your strong systematic thinking and analytical/quantitative talents to improve our internal/external customer service as you optimize the systems involved with the management of risks impacting Coastal. You'll have the opportunity to use your analytical skills and detail orientation to data mine and interpret data in order to provide adhoc reporting and business intelligence for Risk Management. You'll have the opportunity to use your communication and rapport building talents as you coordinate efforts with internal business partners and network with outside vendors, credit unions, and peer groups to ensure cutting-edge industry technologies are being utilized.

The contributions you can anticipate making:

Assisting with optimization of credit union systems by:

  • Researching products and services
  • Researching existing and new technology
  • Performing administrative changes and access reviews for assigned systems
  • Reviewing Risk Management processes and procedures to maximize resources and limit unnecessary business costs
  • Providing enhancement recommendations for Risk Management systems, in addition to the core and other ancillary systems
  • Testing changes for Risk Projects and system releases
  • Developing a channel for business units to seek system guidance and support for Risk systems
  • Working with IT and vendors to resolve system-related issues

Supplying team with data by:

  • Maintaining the reporting process for the department
  • Supplying monthly and quarterly reports detailing Risk Management activities for Board, Supervisory, Executive, and VP-levels
  • Fulfilling ad hoc reporting needs

Protecting Coastal by:

  • Overseeing systems for early detection of fraudulent and criminal activity
  • Reviewing and updating procedures
  • Collaborate with business unit partners to mitigate risk across business functions

Interested? Here's what we need to see on your resume:


  • At least three years of financial institution experience.
  • At least three years of system application experience, and/or data mining/reporting experience.
  • At least one year of fraud or AML/BSA experience
  • At least one year providing training or instruction to others
  • SQL experience
  • Experience as a resource or leading a project team preferred


  • Related bachelor's degree preferred
